The structure of the house is formed by two buildings that date back to the 15th and 18th centuries. Set in the lush green valley of Calci, known as the “Val Graziosa” due to the sloping hills and flourishing nature, the house overlooks the valley with a view of the ancient historic ruins of the “Verruca Castle”. The unbroken silence of the countryside and the warm welcome we give our guests assure a pleasant stay.
The grounds, with ample lawns, surrounded by olive groves offer space for dining outside on warm summer evenings. The use of a barbeque, a gazebo, a ping-pong table, a swimming pool and areas for relax all add pleasure to your holiday.
Where we are: the Agriturismo is situated on a hill a ten minute walk from the center of the village of Calci where you can find a supermarket, a post office, a chemist, a bank and other small shops.
There are many towns and villages nearby worth visiting. From our Agriturismo Al Palazzaccio great part of Tuscany can be reached in a short time: Pisa 12 km, Lucca 24km, Florence 96km, Livorno 20km, Volterra 68km, San Gimignano 84km, Siena 147km.
OUR PRODUCTS
The Azienda Agricola Ruschi has produced extra vergin olive oil since 1700, and has always dedicated time and energy to the cultivation of olive trees. In 1870 the owner, the senator Rinaldo Ruschi, was awarded a prize at the Exhibition of London, later at the Exhibition of Paris, then Vienna and Forlì.
The farm, now run by Cristiana Ruschi, in 2009 and in 2013, received the first prize for the best extra vergin olive oil in the provence of Pisa. Today there are more than 4000 olive trees in about 11 hectos, on the slopes of the valley of Calci, where olive trees have always grown.
In the olive groves donkeys are bred to control the growth of the grass and to fertilize the trees. The varieties grown on the characteristic terraces with stone walls, are mainly “razzo, frantoio and mignolo”. The extra-vergin olive oil has a golden yellow greenish colour, a delicate fragrance, and a sharp intense sweet fruity flavour.
The oil produced has organic certification from the 2013-2014 campaign.

With a small production of lavender, we also pack laundry perfume bags. With our olive oil, instead, soap with natural fragrance has been produced.
